The selection of construction technology in the context of lightweight ceiling structure construction mostly takes place in the designing stage of a building. A lightening of horizontal part of structures in the buildings has a direct impact on the sustained load reducing. In this manner, there is the possibility to create and design open places in buildings as well as optimizing foundation structures. The brief overview of lightweight floor structures monolithic, prefabricated or semi-prefabricated is presented in the paper. The paper also presents the partial results of a case study. Selected variants of the concrete lightweight floor structure were compared in terms of weight and cost of their fabrication.
