Abstract

Nowadays, most of high-rise buildings are designed with glass façade. It is appropriate to consider the use of double transparent/glass facade. The use of these type of facades has several indisputable positives and using of natural ventilation is one of them. This study examines the influence of the orientation of the building to the possible use of natural ventilation in high-rise buildings. The exanimated orientation of the double transparent façade are south, west, north and east. All these variants are simulated by using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in software DesignBuilder with the EnergyPlus computational core in 4 specific external conditions (day and hour), which were already used in previous researches.
